Pride Glasgow - 2015 #BeHappy Campaign

Pride Glasgow approached me in February 2015 to help develop their #BeHappy brand campaign for the 2015 Pride Glasgow event.

The Pride Glasgow brand has a growing reputation and every year has expanded to become Scotland’s biggest LGBT+ pride march and event. This year the event took place over two days in Glasgow Green with main stage acts including Union J and Texas; alongside local acts as well as a fairground and big-top tent.

I was asked by Alastair Smith (director) and Ross Stevenson to build the brand which was to represent the feelings of a party, outdoors and Scotland/Glasgow. I did this by creating 3 major elements to the imagery: Glasgow Skyline with pride flag paint splatters for the Glasgow connection, Blue Sky for a happy outdoors feeling and Sky-writing for the party feel. These came together to create a very bold image for the event which people loved.

Using this brand, I created online and print ads, posters, website materials and, of course, the Pride Guide.

The guide was a 54 page pocket sized printed guide that was distributed for free at the event. It contained a guide to the weekend as well as advertisements for sponsors.

This was a very fun project to work on and the team should be congratulated for the scale of the event they put on.

Jack has been a key player in the campaign design, often working to very tight deadlines. He made several creative suggestions that enhanced the brand and #BeHappy campaign and managed to design the vision that the steering group had imagined.
